This section of my portfolio highlights a number of assignments I had to accomplish during my time at Kent State University, as a Communication Studies Major.
In my Gender and Communications class, I discussed how people with disabilities and/or neurodivergent folks have barriers to forming relationships. Whether it be just friendly or romantic, I dived into the challenges faced by people with disabilities.
For this project, I had to formulate a plan to get more traction on my social media page and make sure that my plan includes a timeline of action, set goals to achieve, and a plan to get there.
Information Fluency in the Workplace focused on helping students to seek information. Whether it is the role of technology, media literacy, ethical uses of information, and identifying bias and authority. My final project discussed the positives and negatives of more artificial intelligence inside of photo software, and how much of an impact it has on the outcome of a photo.
Interviewing is very important to obtaining a job. In this paper, I go through a mock interview at Kent State University and discuss what my experiences were like throughout the process. I learned a lot about interviews and feel I am more comfortable when being interviewed.
During this class period, I learned a lot about different cultures and how different our culture is from others. I had to go find someone that is from a different culture and interview them about what their culture is like, some of their beliefs from back home, and even their life customs.
My Story on the Web tasked us with creating our own website, branding it, and making it functional for users to see what we are able to achieve. My website highlights some of the capabilities that I have with photography and website design.
The final academic document that will be shared is from my social media strategies class. We were to create a content plan for an organization of our choice that we picked at the beginning of the semester, and make a plan to increase brand awareness by 5% among millennials by December of 2023. We were to use a specific social media site and use numerous features that are specific to that site.
